MUSCLE has been around for over six years, helping apps like BeShare, CueConsole, and CueStation do their thing at Level Control Systems (which is now part of Meyer Sound Laboratories). It's all about networking! This software lets multiple client programs talk to each other, even if they're running on different computers or operating systems.
The cool part? MUSCLE uses a central server that client programs can connect to or disconnect from whenever they want. This setup is kind of like how Quake servers or IRC servers work but is more flexible. So whether you're gaming or just chatting, MUSCLE makes it happen!
Besides the client-server system, MUSCLE also has features that support peer-to-peer message streaming. Plus, there are some handy utility classes that you can use for various tasks. It's pretty versatile!
The server side of this software is ready to go as soon as you compile it and run it. But if you want to really make it shine, you'll need to write your own client software. Don't worry; there's example client software available in the "test" subdirectory to help you get started.
If you're excited about what MUSCLE can do for your projects, check it out! It's perfect for those who want reliable networking solutions.
