Nanotube Modeler is a cool software tool designed to help you create x, y, and z coordinates for nanotubes and nanocones. You can also analyze them using the built-in viewers or an external program that you like.
This tool makes it super easy to create buckyballs and graphene sheets using interactive graphs. You’ll get to see the structure of what you’re working on right in the main window, which is pretty neat!
You can use mouse dragging actions to look at your object from different angles. It’s like having a mini 3D model that you can spin around!
With Nanotube Modeler, you can choose from different object types such as nanotubes, nanocones, graphene sheets, cone sheets, and buckyballs. Plus, there’s a Fullerene library available in CC1 or XYZ file format. If you're feeling adventurous, try enabling the virus geometry mode!
The app lets you hide or show atoms and bonds in your workspace. You can also adjust the size of those atoms and bonds to fit your needs. Want to rotate your object? No problem! Just turn it around any way you want along the x, y, or z axis! There are also several stereo modes available like parallel, crosseye, or anaglyph.
This software supports tube distortions too! You can preview atom coordinates right on the main panel. If you've got structures from Fullerene, XMOL, XY or IMM PDB data lying around, feel free to import them! Exporting is just as easy; send your structure out as MOL, XMOL, PDB, CIF, VRML or PDF files.
You’ve even got special viewers for analyzing MOL, PDB, CIF, VRML, and POV structures—or create custom ones if you're up for it! Change colors for backgrounds or atoms and bonds until it looks just right.
All in all, Nanotube Modeler packs some powerful features that make generating coordinates for nanotubes or other objects not just possible but enjoyable too!
