NoteTray is a small software application whose purpose is to help you take quick notes using a set of straightforward actions.

This is a portable program. You can store it on USB flash drives or other portable devices to have it with you all the time. You may run it without administrative privileges.

Gaining access to its features requires only opening the executable file because there’s no setup included in the process. It does not write entries to your Windows registry and leave other configuration files on the target PC. It actually saves settings data on the storage device.

NoteTray reveals a clean and intuitive design that leaves no room for ambiguities. Although you cannot consult a help manual for finding out more details about the program’s capabilities, you can manage to tweak the dedicated parameters on your own.

The application gives you the possibility to manually type text messages directly in the main window or paste the information from the clipboard. You can move the primary panel where you input notes to the desired desktop position. Plus, you may resize it according to your preferences.

What’s more, you are allowed to copy the information included in the note to the clipboard so you can quickly transfer it into other third-party programs, delete data, cut the selected information, as well as undo your actions.

You do not have to keep NoteTray’s primary window all the time on your screen. You can keep the tool running in the system tray and restore it with ease when you want to add a new note.

Tests have pointed out that NoteTray carries out tasks quickly and without errors. It is not a resource hog so you do not have to worry that it hampers the overall performance of your computer.

All things considered, NoteTray comes packed only with basic features for helping you take notes, and is suitable especially for less experienced users. On the downside, you cannot create multiple notes, adjust the background color, pin notes to the desktop, and customize the text (e.g. color, font, size), just to highlight a few suggestions.
