OBJ Import for Inventor is a handy add-in that makes it super easy to import Wavefront OBJ files into Inventor. With this tool, you can bring in polygon data from those OBJ files right into your designs!
This software reads polygon mesh data stored in OBJ files and loads it into Inventor. So, what does that mean? Well, an OBJ file has triangular or quad faces that make up its mesh. When you use OBJ Import for Inventor, it creates trimmed planar surfaces for each triangle or quad, and then it knits them together to form a solid body. If your polygon mesh is closed (meaning no boundary edges), the tool will create a closed body feature. If not, you’ll get an open surface instead.
No need to worry about complicated setups! Once you've installed the add-in, it automatically integrates with Inventor and adds a new submenu called “OBJImport” right in the main menu.
The OBJImport submenu includes several useful commands:
The best part? OBJ Import for Inventor comes with detailed documentation that explains each command thoroughly. Plus, there’s even a tutorial to help get you started quickly! You can check out more about downloading this awesome tool at This link here!
