Java Requirement

This tool runs on Java, so make sure you've got that set up on your computer before diving in. Without Java, you won't be able to run OpenStego.

Hide Your Files

With OpenStego, you can choose the file you want to hide, pick an algorithm (like LSB or random LSB), and even embed the same message in multiple cover files such as JPG, BMP, GIF, or PNG. Plus, you can easily specify where to save everything!

Add Extra Security

This tool also lets you add an extra layer of security by encrypting your files with passwords. You can compress the images too, so they don’t look suspicious if someone else sees them.

Advanced Features for Pros

If you're more experienced, you'll love the option to use random images as cover files and choose how many bits to use per color channel. For extracting your hidden info, just select the input file and output directory while entering your password.

During our tests, we noticed that OpenStego gets things done pretty quickly! But like many Java tools, it does use quite a bit of CPU and memory—so keep an eye on your computer's performance.
