OrcaLauncher is a super handy tool for anyone using the ORCA quantum chemistry program package. If you’ve ever tried using ORCA, you know it can be a bit tricky because it mainly works through the command line. But don't worry! OrcaLauncher makes it much easier with its simple user interface. You can manage your projects, add tasks to a queue, and even connect with other programs like Chemcraft and Avogadro.

Easy Input and Output File Management

The main goal of OrcaLauncher is to help you handle input and output files smoothly. Before you dive in, make sure to set the path to ORCA's executable or one of those third-party apps I just mentioned. Just use the Settings combo menu on the toolbar to do that.

User-Friendly Dashboard

You’ll love how intuitive the dashboard is! All your added files will show up in the queue preview panel. If you need to tweak any input items, just select one from the list, and its structure pops up in a secondary pane called the Input file editor. You have the option to save changes back to the same file or create a new copy—it's totally up to you!

Running Your Calculations

When you're all set to start your calculations, just hit that RUN ORCA button! After some processing time, you'll see if your task has been marked as Completed or Aborted. A new window will pop up showing you all those results.
