Overlay Message Box

Overlay Message Box is a small tool designed to capture the attention of the users regarding a task to focus on, a project or any other similar to-do or reminder. Essentially, the utility can display a message and dims down the desktop, so it is unlikely that anyone can just skip it. Dimming down the desktop including all running applications or opened files.

The application includes two different executables, one that can be called from a Windows app or executable and a console version. According to the developer, both work in a similar manner, the only distinction between them being that the latter entails calling the Command Prompt or PowerShell window.

As far as the message is concerned, the utility enables the writing and display of a simple message within a dialog box that is bound to be acknowledged. Users can set up more complex messages by adding titles, captions, headlines or various symbols. At the same time, the message can be displayed in multiple lines, making it an interesting method for showing a to-do list for daily use, for instance. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that the message can include buttons, like Yes or No for example, which may work very well with certain reminders or progressing tasks.
