If you are tinkering Windows or just did a fresh install, but it somehow seems to still behave or act funny at times, then you need to double check the state of the operating system. pcHealth is a set of tools that packs a plethora of little utilities to help you learn more about the hardware and software.

This is not an application per se, but rather a script that helps you perform various tests and gather information about your computer. It doesn’t sport an interface and you can navigate as you would normally do via any console. Despite the CLI interface, it is easy to use as all you need to do is press a corresponding number for the action and wait.

The scripts contained are split into two main sections, namely tools and program menu, with the latter allowing you to gather hardware information or download other well-known tools to do stress tests or scan for malicious malware. Some of the apps that can be downloaded via the scripts include Prime95, ADW Cleaner or DiskInfo64.

The scripts listed under tools can come in handy in a variety of situations and include scanning for corrupted or missing files, performing ping tests, recovering BIOS password, getting battery reports for laptops or downloading updates for system programs, just to name a few. You can open various Windows functions, such as disk optimization and disk cleaning, for example, and re-enable drivers, in case you are having problems with your audio hardware.

Although advertised by the developer as a tool for IT professionals, pcHealth is a console tool that can work with the average users just as well. If you want to do a deep check of your Windows installation, then perhaps you can consider giving this tool a try.
