Network administrators and, if I may say, regular users who are a bit more passionate about computers and technology tend to experiment with various tools to help them carry out network testing.

While the command console is surely in the top apps used by tech-savvy computer users, third-party applications are also a hit to many, especially if they meet a particular need, such as sending ping commands to test connectivity, for instance.

Batch pinging multiple endpoints simultaneously is possible with PingFrames, a simple application that can help anyone monitor the connection to one or more hosts.

Clearly focusing on functionality rather than looks, PingFrames’ GUI is simple, displaying the list of target endpoints to the left and the monitoring frames to the right. The connectivity of one or more endpoints can be checked with PingFrames, which turns it into an asset for network managers and system admins, or even regular users who are facing network connectivity issues.

You start by building the input list. You must type in the IP addresses or hostnames in the left box, adding them all one by one. While adding the hosts to the list is possible, keep in mind that it is also possible, and probably easier, to load an existing list of hosts.

The next step is to right-click on a hostname and choose “Ping selected”. Alternatively, you can add a new frame for the selected host. Start pinging all the hosts from the designated menu.

Ping results are show in real time, along with the IP address and other details. To be more specific, you can see the response time, the number of sent packets and connectivity errors, if any.

As its name implies, PingFrames can help you ping multiple hosts simultaneously and detect any connectivity issues in the network. It is an alternative to the ping command in Windows, a batch ping tool, to be more specific, one that can really come in handy to both network admins and regular users.
