Specifically designed for PLEXTOR SSDs, PlexTurbo makes it possible for users to take advantage of the computer's RAM memory to enhance the storage capacity of their hardware devices.

Applying what is called "smart cache technology," PlexTurbo manages to detect frequently-accessed data and use advanced caching algorithms to allow significant performance boost due to faster read and write operations. This results in a reduced number of SSD accesses, which prolongs the life of the storage device.

Another advantage of the application's mechanism is protection against data loss, as the data is temporarily stored in the RAM cache as well. Thus, an unexpected system crash or power outage should not result in important data being lost.

The PlexTurbo Viewer displays information about all the active drives that use PlexTurbo's technology, alongside their cache capacity and the total reduced write volume. The maximum cache size that PlexTurbo will use can be configured by the user.

With support for multiple drives, PlexTurbo provides automatic load balancing. To reduce the waiting time for program loading, PlexTurbo can preload data files that are used prior to a shutdown operation at the following boot time.
