HDHacker is a handy portable tool that helps you view, save, and restore the Master Boot Record (MBR) from a physical drive. It’s also great for getting the Boot Sector from a logical drive or any other sector on your disk. This software is perfect for anyone with a little knowledge about these types of applications.
The best part? You don’t need to install anything! Just extract the program files anywhere on your hard drive and run the executable file. It’s super simple! If you prefer, you can even pop HDHacker onto a USB flash drive, which means you can take it with you wherever you go.
Another cool feature is that it doesn’t add any entries to your Windows Registry. So when you’re done using it and want to remove it, nothing gets left behind on your hard drive!
The interface looks pretty standard but is nicely laid out. You can easily select whether you're working with a logical or physical drive and choose the first or a custom sector. There are options to save a sector as a file (in DAT format), copy details to your clipboard, or write it directly onto the disk.
This software is really lightweight—it uses very little CPU and system memory. So while you're running HDHacker, it won’t slow down other processes on your computer at all. It works quickly too, showing sector information right away without making your system freeze or crash. We didn’t run into any issues during our tests!
If you're looking to create backups of your MBR and Boot Sector or setting up a new Windows system, HDHacker is definitely worth checking out! You can download HDHacker here!
