XPath Visualizer is a handy tool that helps you look at and edit .xml files, plus run XPath queries without any hassle. This software is like the portable version of the original XPath Visualizer, making it super easy to use wherever you go!
You won’t need much to get started. Besides having the .NET Framework, there are no extra installations needed. Just drop the program files onto your computer, click on the .exe file to launch it, or save it to a pen drive to run it on any PC.
The interface is super straightforward! At first, you’ll need to press the Alt key to see the menu bar. From there, you can load an .xml file using a file browser (drag-and-drop isn’t supported), or even enter an HTTP URL.
The contents of your document pop up in the main window where you can check out each line of code, make edits, and save changes either as a new file or overwrite the existing one. You can even open multiple .xml documents at once thanks to the tab support!
This app shows line numbers and has cool XML syntax highlighting too! To evaluate an XPath expression, just type it into the designated box and watch as it highlights in real-time. If there are multiple matches for your expression, don’t worry—you can jump between them easily using an arrow symbol.
XPath Visualizer also lets you reindent XML code while keeping whitespace intact, hide line numbers if you want less clutter, and copy data directly to your Clipboard. There’s even an option for stripping namespaces or extracting highlighted nodes!
The only downside? If you're new to this tool, you might think it's missing features since the menu bar isn’t visible by default. You’ll have to hit “Alt” every time you want to see it—no setting it as always visible! But don’t worry; keyboard shortcuts are here to help speed things up.
No worries about your PC slowing down! This program uses minimal CPU and RAM while running queries quickly. Plus, there’s help documentation available if you're just getting started!
If you're looking for a simple yet effective way to explore XML files and run queries, XPath Visualizer might just be what you need!
