Applications and games you run aren’t just the interface and result you get. Behind all this, different processes are kept alive by your computer’s resources. However, faulty programming can keep resources busy for no reason, and you can check out what’s going on with applications like ProcessMemoryDumper.
With no time spent installing the application, you get to check out the set of features right after download is finished. This is a good thing, and also means you can use it on other computers, without having to worry about affecting stability, because registries are not a dependency here.
The main window is structured in quite the variety of panels, from which only one is filled by default. Items in the initial list represent running processes, but only external ones, and no option to make system processes visible. In fact, detection ratio is rather poor, and there’s a high chance you don’t find the one you’re looking for.
Selecting a process immediately fills up the details and loaded modules panes. You quickly realize that ProcessMemoryDumper is not the process manager you expected to find, but there is the possibility to kill a process, considering you know what you’re doing.
The selected process can be thoroughly analyzed, and each module lets you analyze its structure, which includes details like size, build info, versions, manufacturer, as well as all functions used to keep that particular process alive. There’s quite a lot of info provided at the press of a button. What’s more, you can save it to file, either in a LOG file, or generating dump for the process, all files being saved to the source directory.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that ProcessMemoryDumper is a professional tool with which to analyze even the smallest details of running processes. A log can be created to make analysis easier, with the possibility to dump process, as well. However, practicality still has to suffer because system processes are not shown on the list.
