R-Link Explorer is a community-made tool meant to allow users to browse the hidden files handled by Renault’s proprietary SD cards designed for use in R-Link GPS navigation systems. This tool is perfect for making backups or editing properties that would be otherwise inaccessible to car owners.
Once the storage card is inserted into the computer, users can start exploring its contents by selecting it from the “Local Browser” section on the left side of the application’s dual-pane layout. Here, one can pick which proprietary TomTom files to drag and drop to the “Virtual devices browser” for adding, removing, or copying files over to the target PC for backup purposes.
At times, SD cards can malfunction, regardless of their manufacturer. The program lets users perform file system checks and repairs to ensure proper functioning of the storage device. In the case of corrupted cards, the app can reformat them and load backups from a target directory so that users can regain the functionality provided by the GPS system.
If the SD card reaches its full capacity, TomTom files can be resized to take up less space and allow more room for other folders and utilities. For situations when the SD card changes its file system format, users can quickly reformat it to the appropriate FAT32 standard at the press of a button.
This tool really makes managing your Renault's GPS system easy and efficient. Whether you're looking to edit properties or simply keep backups safe, R-Link Explorer is here to help!
