RAM Optimizer Pro

No matter how much RAM you have on your computer, certain applications with severe memory leaks might hold some of it 'hostage' in certain situations. Not to say that Windows does not do a good job of allocating or freeing up RAM resources on its own, but sometimes a small push from the back might be recommended.

With this exact purpose in mind comes RAM Optimizer Pro, a stripped-down and one purpose-only piece of software designed to make it easy for you to free up your computer's unused random-access memory.

The utility features a standard and surprise-free installation process, subsequent to which you can take advantage of what it has to offer, without the need of other configuration methods. As far as interfaces go, it is safe to say that RAM Optimizer Pro comes with a minimalist and maybe too simple one.

This said, the application displays a RAM usage indicator, which features no numbers or points of reference added, so, basically, it is of not much use.

Besides the vague RAM indicator, the only other element of its interface is a Start button. Click it, and the tool instantly starts to unload used RAM while providing you with feedback via a similarly vague progress bar.

While there is nothing wrong with simple and compact interfaces, some number indicators and some extra information like free, compressed, wired memory and the actual file cache readings would go a long way.

If we were to nitpick, we would say that an automatic unloading function is on the list of must-have features for any application of this sort nowadays. We cannot but think that some customization options would have made the app much better.

While RAM Optimizer Pro does a fair job of freeing up your computer's unused RAM, the application just feels too outdated. Not only does the interface seem incomplete, but the feature list is almost inexistent.
