Random Password Generator Expert is an application you can use to create random and secure keys to protect not only email accounts and wireless network connections but also documents and photos from other people attempting to access this personal information. It features an advanced set of options dedicated to experienced users who want to control the entire password generation operation.
By the look of the installer with the fullscreen window and gradient background color that take us back to Windows 98, it's evident that the tool hasn't received updates for a long time. But we didn't have any trouble getting it up and running on newer Windows models in our tests.
The interface of Random Password Generator Expert is plain and neatly structured. Aside from the menu bar and toolbar, it contains an output box and tabs with three different passwords generation methods: setting rules, creating masks, and using only numbers.
Conditions can be set when it comes to the password length (number of characters or character range), number of keys to create, symbols, case (lower, upper, mixed), total numbers (fixed or random), and the numbers' position (to the left, right or within).
Different masks can be created by setting a mask name, password length and keys count, as well as by tinkering with each character on each position to be either an uppercase or lowercase letter, number, fixed or any symbol, or special character.
The last tab creates serial keys using only numbers, giving you the possibility to set the minimum and maximum number, total numbers, and whether or not you want to include repetitive numbers.
Passwords are quickly generated and displayed in the central panel of Random Password Generator Expert. It's possible to change the font face and size, select and copy keys, as well as save them to plain text, CSV or HTML format.
The software utility created passwords quickly in our tests while remaining light on system resources usage. Although it hasn't been updated for long, we haven't experienced any compatibility issues with newer Windows editions. A help manual is available.
Thanks to its three passwords creation methods and advanced settings, Random Password Generator Expert should meet the requirements of meticulous users looking to enhance security by controlling every bit of the key generation process. Too bad that it's no longer in development.
