Let's say that you're currently in a fairly unusual tight spot and thanks to an unknown turn of events, your computer's Windows Update services are not running as they should.
There's always the option to either restore your Windows from a backup, if you have one, or perform a fresh Windows installation. Clearly, both procedures are not exactly hassle-free, not to mention that they require a hefty investment of time and possibly even patience.
Before you lose hope, at least consider giving Reset Windows Update a chance. Basically, Reset Windows Update, also bearing the moniker of Reset-WindowsUpdate, is a tiny script that automatically cleans up unnecessary files and configures the registry keys associated with Windows Update in order to reset the service to its default configuration.
It's been designed to work with Windows 7, 8, and 10, as well as with Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 and it does not require a vast computer experience in order to make the most out of it.
Simply download the script from our servers or from it's official Microsoft repository, right-click it, and select the Run with PowerShell option.
You will be greeted by a typical Windows PowerShell window, and the process should unfold without requiring any type of user intervention. Of course, to complete the process, a quick system restart is necessary.
Taking everything into consideration, there's no denying that Reset Windows Update is a very useful script that will surely come in handy in rare situations where the Windows Update services are not performing as they should.
