Due to security concerns, many of our passwords are complicated or should be, at least. Remembering a password that includes random characters is rather difficult, if you don’t have a “system”. That is why sometimes you might need to copy a password to the clipboard and store it on the local system. To avoid pasting the password in plain text and thus, risking data theft and password interception, the developers of ScramblePwd created a lightweight tool that can hide the password and display a scrambled copy of it.
There is no need to install ScramblePwd but keep in mind that this application can only be started via the console window or PowerShell. The syntax is simple, as you only need to provide the password you want to conceal and hit the “Enter” button.
ScramblePwd was designed to be used as a user password parameter for the RunAsUser tool, but it also works as a standalone module.
ScramblePwd displays the scrambled password within its main window, of course, encrypted. On the downside, it automatically copies the scrambled password to the clipboard. In other words, once you scramble your password with this application, you will have it ready for use in your clipboard. Just hit CTRL-V to paste it and you are done!
