ScreenCaster is a handy teaching tool designed to share the teacher's computer screen with students' computers. It makes online learning super easy and effective!
So, here’s the scoop: ScreenCaster has two main parts. First, there's the ScreenServer, which lives on the teacher's computer. This is what broadcasts everything to all the student PCs. Then we have the ScreenClient, which goes on each student's computer.
The teacher installs and runs ScreenServer. On the flip side, every student needs to install their own ScreenClient. When a student runs ScreenClient, it hangs out in the Windows tray, waiting for action.
Once it's up and running, ScreenClient will ask for the teacher’s computer IP address and connection port (which is set to 9999 by default). This is how it connects!
A cool feature of ScreenClient? It can run in stealth mode! That means it can hide from view in the icon tray so that students won’t even know it’s there.
The teacher will execute ScreenServer, also minimizing it in their Windows tray. When they click "Start Sending Screens," bam! All students see the teacher's screen pop up while their keyboards and mice are locked. Talk about focus!
If the teacher wants to stop sharing, they just click "Stop Sending Screens." The students' computers go back to normal, and they can use their keyboards and mice again. Plus, even if it's hidden (thanks to stealth mode), students stay connected until told otherwise.
