Search++

Search++ is a comprehensive program that enables you to identify the desired files, whether they are stored in local folders or on file servers. The software allows you to easily find the file types you are searching for, by applying filters to the search, for extensions or the date they were created.

Search++ allows you to search for files, based on several criteria: location, type, filename or content. Before commencing the actual search, the software prompts you to set the location restrictions, in order to reduce the indexing time. Moreover, you may specify file extensions that should be ignored, or on the contrary, indicate the formats you are looking for, more specifically.

Thus, the supported formats include PDF, Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT, PPTX), Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX), Microsoft Excel (XLS, XLSX), MSG, VSD, HTML, Open Office formats, Ichitaro, Docuworks, XPS or text files. The software can identify RTF, TXT, LOG, Java, C, C++, BAT or CONFIG files as well.

When the location indexing is finished, you may search for the files by their names or by key words contained within. Thus, the software can identify documents, pictures, audio files, videos, projects, backups and many more. In case of a text file, the software offers you a preview, as you click on the specific list entry.

You may sort the files, in ascending or descending order by names, types, as well as age. Moreover, you may copy, move or delete the selected documents, copy the filenames to clipboard or open then using a program that supports them. An index TXT file can also be created, in which the list of documents can be saved.

Search++ can offer a quick preview of certain files. You may switch between one of the three viewing methods: text, abstract or lines, in order to view the full text, the abstract or only the first line. The software can also run in the background and place a small icon in the system tray area, so you can maximize it at any time.
