Main Features of SearchBasic

The main window has two tabs: ‘Search’ and ‘Options’. The ‘Search’ tab helps you set up what you're looking for while the ‘Options’ tab lets you tweak some settings to help narrow down your results.

Setting Up Your Search

First off, you’ll need to pick the file type you want to search through—like '.rtf'. Just remember that you can only choose one type at a time! In the 'Text To Find' box, enter the word you're hunting for. You even have the option to make it case sensitive by ticking a checkbox!

Selecting Directories and File Sizes

You also need to choose which folder to search in. You can decide whether or not to include subfolders too! Under the ‘Options’ tab, there are ways to limit how big of files you'll check out and how many results will show up.

Your Results Are Just a Click Away!

Once you've set everything up, just hit that ‘Search’ button! Within moments (depending on how big your search is), your results will pop up on the left side of the screen. Click on any entry to see more details on the right side. Plus, there's an option to open its file location or copy text straight onto your clipboard!
