With the help of ShellBagsView you can find out the most recently modified folders on your computer, along with other useful information, such as display mode (e.g. details, icons, tiles), or last window position and size.

This easy-to-use and portable tool processes this data from the registry, where all folder settings are automatically saved. It can be handled by casual users to sort folders by the last modified time, or by advanced users to open and edit their slot keys in the registry.

You can save its executable file anywhere on the hard drive or on a USB flash drive to launch ShellBagsView on any computer, while keeping in mind that it doesn't need any other DLLs to run and that it only accesses the Windows registry; no modifications are actually made by the program here.

It adopts a simple and intuitive interface that lists all folders by name, showing their slot number, last modified time, folder mode (e.g. details, icons), window position and size, type, slot key, and slot modified time.

It's possible to sort the directories by any of the previously mentioned criteria, open the slot key of any directory in the registry editor, reset the selected items, visit their location in your default file explorer, show time in GMT, display grid lines, use a simple search function to track down a specific folder, as well as copy information or save it to file in text, CSV, HTML or XML format.

Unsurprisingly, it didn't put a strain on the machine's performance in our tests, using low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't freeze or crash.
