We are using several services and applications on our computers and devices and many of them require having a personal account. On the other hand, it’s practically impossible to remember them all, especially if you bind to the passwords’ security rules and recommendations. No worries, as there is a solution to this problem: a password manager.

While there are many solutions out there, including plain browser add-ons that work as password managers, desktop applications such as Simple Password Manager still seem to be on the preferences list of many.

Simple Password Manager is nothing more than its name states: a straightforward, lightweight and easy-to-use password management tool that can help you store credentials in a single place. As it usually happens with such tools, the access to the manager is protected by a master password, which, by default is “1234”. That is due to the fact that, annoyingly enough, there is no default list of fields for stored passwords. It is possible to create a new category, but difficult to populate the category with new entries.

Simple Password Manager provides a simple tool for managing passwords, but it only stores data locally and there is no information about data encryption, which is definitely a drawback. On the other hand, it does offer an open-source alternative to more complex password managers,
