SISContents

SIS packages are archives for the Symbian OS that contains different file types. In order to view the content of such a file in Windows, you need a special application. One of these is SISContents, a simple, yet useful software that can display the content of SIS packages.

The interface of the program is user-friendly and allows you to create, view and edit Symbian packages. It supports multiple file formats, such as SIS, SISX, N-GAGE and DM.

This application can help you inspect the PKG script that describes the on-device installation process. This means that you are able to view the files contained in the package definition file (PKG), as well as other detailed information that the package includes, such as the vendor, package name and UID, creation date and time, supported languages and version.

In addition to this, the software offers you the possibility to create your own customized SIS package, by adding new files to the pack. The files you add can be either installed on the device or displayed as a text message.

Also, you can change the devices that the package is addressed to, by choosing from a wide range of options, including S60 devices, UIQ, Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson. The install type can also be modified, by choosing from various options: installation, augmentation, partial upgrade or ROM upgrade.

Another plus is that the program allows you to modify the application dependencies, as you can add or remove them easily. You can view the certificates against which the package is signed and add multiple new signatures.

SISContents is a lightweight application that enables you to view and edit SIS files, as well as create a new SIS package for your phone. Practically, it offers you the possibility to customize every aspect of the SIS package according to your preferences and needs.
