If one wants to surf the web, they have plenty of solutions on offer to handle their browsing. Mainstream solutions, for example, are competent enough for anyone to not have to worry about seeking alternatives, but there's a whole subset of browsers looking to pull users in with their different approach.

What are you looking for in a browser, specifically? A snappy web surfing experience that is resource-conscious and privacy-respecting, most of all — and there's probably more to add, depending on the user. Skye seeks to deliver on all of those fronts: the browser is intuitive to use, comes with an ad-blocker built-in, and allows users to install their favorite extensions.

The modern, bordering-on-minimalist design language seems to populate the browser market of today, and it looks like it's here to stay. This browser is no exception: the design is slick, but in a minimalist way that marries intuitive button placement with easy-to-reach functions. It operates much like any other mainstream solution out there: boot it up, and start surfing the web just as you would normally.

A built-in ad-blocker is packed into the tool from the get-go, but users can choose to disable it anytime. Whether it is to add another ad-blocking solution, or to forgo blocking ads altogether, the choice is yours. The extension support makes that possible: anything from the Chrome Web Store is fair game, so feel free to take your favorite Chrome extensions with you on this new browser.

The Settings menus are pretty rudimentary, all things considered. This might be off-putting to some users: there's no "Advanced Settings" menu or anything of the sort, as everything you see is what you get. The default experience is good enough, so it's unlikely that you'd want to tamper with the settings, but more versatility would have been nice.

Regardless, Skye is a solid choice for a browser: much like its mainstream competitors, it's a plug-and-play kind of affair, where the default experience is good for anyone looking to surf the web safely and securely. For those looking for more granular control over their browser's settings, feel free to shop around some more.
