SkyNX is a handy little tool that lets you stream your PC games right to your Nintendo Switch over your local network without needing Android. How cool is that?
First off, you'll need to pop out the Nintendo MicroSD card and connect it to your computer for everything to work smoothly. Don’t worry, it’s pretty straightforward! Along with the Windows app, make sure to copy the Nintendo app onto the root of that MicroSD card. The good news? The app doesn’t overwrite anything; it just puts the necessary files in a spot where both systems can read them.
Once you've transferred the app, you can safely disconnect the MicroSD and put it back into your Nintendo Switch. Now, if you're feeling fancy, you might want to install the app on your Nintendo for quick access from your home screen. But if you’d rather keep things simple, you can always launch it from the Homebrew main menu. Once you're in, you’ll see an IP address that you'll need to type into the Windows app to establish a connection.
The interface is pretty much just a settings window where you can enter your IP address, adjust streaming quality, swap A-B and X-Y buttons (this is useful depending on what game you're playing), and toggle audio and video settings. If you run into any audio or video issues, just double-check those settings and ensure all drivers are installed correctly.
A little heads-up: the quality of your stream really depends on your internet speed, which should be anywhere from 4 to 20 Mbps. If you've got a decent connection, setting it up at middle level is a smart move; otherwise adjust as needed based on what works best for you.
Before diving into streaming, it's best to set your screen resolution to 1280 x 720—this matches up nicely with what the Nintendo Switch uses. This way, you'll avoid any annoying latency problems while gaming! Finally, when you're ready to kick things off with SkyNX, simply start up a game on your computer; this will automatically start it on your Switch too!
