SolZip is an awesome tool that helps you zip up your Visual Studio 2008 C# Solutions, Projects, and Items in three easy ways! You can use the command line, Guidance Automation (GAX), or Managed Menu Extensions. It’s super handy for developers who want to share their code quickly.
The idea behind SolZip is pretty straightforward. It's all about making it easier to compress your Visual Studio Solutions and Projects. While other tools do something similar, what makes SolZip stand out are the unique tools and user interfaces it offers.
One of the coolest features of SolZip is that it doesn’t just zip up folders. Instead, it reads your .sln file and .csproj files to figure out exactly which items should be zipped. This means you don’t have to worry about excluding unnecessary stuff like bin and obj folders or .svn folders from subversion.
The real charm of SolZip isn’t just in compression; it’s about gathering all the important files you need while leaving out things like generated assemblies, PDB files, XML files, and other random junk.
