Nowadays people are strating to shift towards quality over quantity, and are using less and less HDD storage units, switching their attention towards the much faster SSDs. SSDlife Free is a simple-to-use application that runs diagnostics on SSD disks to determine their health status by taking into account the well-known S.M.A.R.T. attributes.

The interface is represented by a regular window with a simple layout, where SSD information is immediately displayed at initialization. SSDlife Free shows the drive health status along with the name, total and free size, work time, run times, estimated lifetime and trimming status of the drive, in addition to total read and written data (in GB) in the current and previous day, as well as in the last 7 days. It is possible to update information with the click of a button, save the log to file for further scrutiny (LOG format), as well as capture the frame (to PNG or JPEG images).

As far as settings are concerned, you can set SSDlife Free to automatically start at Windows boot, switch to a different GUI language, and choose the viewing mode for the S.M.A.R.T. attributes field. However, users are permitted to view S.M.A.R.T. data only in SSDlife Pro. The application has minimal impact on resources consumption and a good refresh rate concerning SSD information, delivering accurate data. No error messages were shown in our testing, and SSDlife Free did not hang or crash.

Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, SSDlife Free caters to all types of users, and although modern SSDs are made to be more resilient than those of the past, this doesn't mean that this app is obsolete.
