Windows is a decently customizable operating system, and first impressions do matter — including how your desktop looks. Some users are more fussy about wallpapers than others, and while I’m personally happy with changing mine every few months, there are some that rock a new background each week.
The popularity of wallpaper engine apps signals there’s a market for users who just want a good wallpaper. Sucrose Wallpaper Engine, much like the molecule, should be sweet enough to sate your needs for a nice wallpaper: static or animated, audio-enriched or not, and so on, there’s a wide enough selection to choose from.
You’ll notice that there are a great many options that await in the Settings menu. For instance, you can integrate audio visualizers, interact with wallpapers through shortcuts, and even configure JavaScript integration.
There's also a surprising amount of customization afforded to you in the Settings. You can raise or lower the volume of the audio that some wallpapers come with, evaluate performance options, configure how wallpapers are applied and animated, and more.
I found the Performance settings to be especially in-depth: you can even customize the program's behavior when you activate Battery Saver, having backgrounds change when you focus on another app, and so on, which can help quite a bit, especially as the app can be resource-hungry at times.
Sucrose Wallpaper Engine is indeed very promising. It’s well-made and intuitive, so you'll likely find some quality backgrounds there. What's more, given that the Settings menu houses so many interesting options, the program is very configurable, which is always a plus.
