Suspend Tool

First computer models were not equipped with this great variety of power options. It took a shutdown to be able to restart the system, but things changed over the years, with the computer being able to sleep, or hibernate to use little power, but also keep everything active. To quickly access some of these functions, Suspend Tool is a suitable choice.

The application comes in a pretty lightweight package. It requires no installation to function, and can be launched right after download. This means it can be easily stored, and carried around on a thumb drive to perform available operations on other computers, as well.

Accommodation takes a little while, with the compact window being rather straightforward, but clear enough for individuals of all levels of experience. Two of the three states affect the PC directly, while the second is only used to suspend monitor activity, which is brought back upon keyboard, or mouse interaction.

As such, a computer can have activities suspended, entering a sleep-like power state, while the hibernate turns it off, but resuming activities when powering it back on. A recommended tweak is to assign a hotkey to the application’s shortcut from the Properties panel to launch it almost instantly.
