System Monitor Pro

There are many reasons to monitor the status of various components, and quite a few programs that can help you do it. Some of them are quite complex, but a simpler tool can often prove to be a better alternative.

System Monitor Pro fits the bill, as it is one of the more basic monitoring utilities we have come across. It doesn’t offer a lot of interesting features, but it can prove to be useful in certain situations.

This application is designed to keep tabs on CPU, memory, disk and network usage, as well as the master volume and battery level. What’s more, you can choose to monitor a single process separately.

By default, readings are displayed via analog dials, but you have the option of switching to digital bars. When it comes to the CPU, the usage level of each core can be shown separately.

You can switch between two resolution modes – 1280x720 and 1920x1080. The dimensions of the window cannot be fine-tuned, however, which is not ideal.

Unfortunately, no alternative themes are available, which will be an issue for users who are not happy with the application’s default appearance.

System Monitor Pro could be great for users who want to leave it running on a secondary monitor, but the fact that you cannot hide certain elements from the window somewhat limits its usefulness.

On the whole, System Monitor Pro is not a particularly impressive piece of software, but it could be a good choice for users who want to keep track of various parameters via a secondary display.

However, the application offers a very limited number of features and customization options, so it isn’t all that versatile, and the UI is also noticeably out-of-date.
