Take Control is a light program that you can use to configure some of the operations performed in Windows. It can be easily worked with, regardless of the user's level of experience.
The tool comes with a user-friendly interface where you can navigate between the "HotKeys Manager", "Minimized to Tray", "Start with Windows", "Process Explorer", "Notes", "Mails Check" and "File Splitter and Joiner" areas.
You can reconfigure keyboard shortcuts for various actions, such as minimizing all windows, switching to one of the four virtual desktops, creating a new note and adjusting the volume.
You can select active windows to be minimized to the system tray, manage applications which automatically run at system startup, terminate currently running processes and create notes.
Take Control also allows you to fill in information for a POP3 account and check for new emails, as well as join and split files (by parts or size). In the "Settings" area you can make Take Control automatically run at system startup and show the splash screen, specify the time interval for email checkups, as well as disable the window alpha blending effect.
The application requires a low amount of CPU and system memory, has a good response time and includes a help file. No errors dialogs have been displayed during our tests and Take Control did not freeze or crash. However, the app has not been updated for a very long time.
