TCP Scanner is a handy and lightweight tool made for scanning your network for specific ports. It's super simple, so even if you're not a tech whiz, you can still use it without any trouble.
You don’t need to install anything! Just drop the program files anywhere on your hard drive and click on the executable file to get started. It’s really that easy!
If you want to take TCP Scanner with you, you can save it onto a USB flash drive or similar device. This way, you can run it on any computer without needing an installation. Just plug in your USB and go!
A cool thing about this software is that it doesn't mess with your Windows registry or Start menu. So when you're done using TCP Scanner, there won't be any leftover traces or entries—everything stays clean.
The main window of TCP Scanner is pretty straightforward. You just enter the LAN class and the port number, then hit scan! You'll see the status at the bottom of the window showing which address it's scanning and how many threads are running.
This tool runs smoothly without hogging your computer's resources since it uses low CPU and RAM. However, keep in mind that scans might take some time to finish. In our tests, we noticed it sometimes stopped just before completing the scan.
If you're looking to check if ports are open on your network, you might want to explore other networking tools as well because TCP Scanner, while useful, doesn’t have all the bells and whistles.
