Upon launch, you are welcome by the splash screen where you have two options, to specify whether you are extracting text from a PDF file or image. As far as the compatible image formats are concerned, you can find most of the commonly used ones, including, but not limited to PNG, TIFF, JPG, JPEG and BMP.

Before you can extract the text, the application prompts you to select the preferred options. Based on the nature of the document you are processing, you can have the tool detect sloped images, rotation to 90, 180 and 270 degrees, mixed characters, detect and remove lines or you can apply interference filters. Based on the option section, the tool can also be used to scan barcodes.

It is worth mentioning that the tool includes several built-in dictionaries that ensures further filtering of the text you are extracting. The program can come in handy for companies working with international partners and that might receive invoices or other important documents in other languages.
