Text Studio bundles a variate a suite of tools meant for text and code editing, comparing files, as well as performing math calculations.
Its functionality overcomes the standard feature set of a classic text editor, aiming to assist developers in editing source code files. It comes with a rich set of tools that enables them to edit data, encode and decode documents, modify text, insert functions and methods and so on.
The first thing you will notice about Text Studio is that its interface is nothing like the GUI of a classic text editor. It displays a simple layout, with accessible options, allowing one-click access to all the commands and offering pop-up explanations for each function.
The application is compatible with various types of files, namely TXT, INI, LOG, X and INF. The document content is not shown in the main window, as you might expect, but once you select a command to perform, a new window appears, very similar in looks with Notepad, where you can modify the currently opened file.
Text Studio enables you to view the hex representation of the text and comes with a HEX editor that you can use. Also, it comes with options for inserting text pieces into the document, generating functions with custom arguments or replacing existing text with new sentences. Regular expressions can be used for more accurate results. Other functions allow string and character deletion, file comparison, word sorting, text formatting, splitting and joining.
There are a few tools that are designed for programmers only, such as the Java or VB script builder. It also features a hash generator for MD5 and SHA1, a built-in calculator, a tool to solve permutations and combinations, as well as a bunch of other utilities to convert numbers to text, viewing the HTML code of a webpage, crop or resize pictures, download files and more.
Text Studio is nowhere near being a simple text editor and far from standard code editors. It creates a rather confusing assortment of tools that are comprised together inside the same interface. While its functions might prove useful to some, a good idea would be to organize them in a more efficient and clear manner.
