The ThiefAware application was designed to be a simple digital survellance program. ThiefAware uses a video capture device, such as a webcam, to monitor the scene for motion. When it detects something moving it starts recording.
By default, ThiefAware records for a minute before checking for more motion, if there is still something moving it continues recording for another minute at which point it again checks for more motion. You can review the footage at any time with the easy to use review mode, which also allows you to save individual frames as picture files, and optionally date and time stamp them.
You never have to worry about running out of hard drive space. You can limit ThiefAware's hard drive space usage to any value you like. Old footage is automatically deleted when hard drive space runs out.
