Township is a city-building game in which you must do all kind of farm related activities like harvesting crops, running processing facilities, buying and selling goods in order to develop your city.

Moreover, Township's entire gameplay revolves around making money from selling goods and from farming activities designed to help you take your town to new heights of development.

You start by growing wheat, but, once the game advances, you will be able to grow more profitable crops such as cotton and sugar cane. While playing Township you have the option to either sell your crops, or spend money on building factories that process them, thus boosting your town’s industry.

The game mimics real life economy: you grow wheat, use mills to grind it into flour, ship the flour off to a bakery in order to produce bread. Bread, of course, has much higher profits than wheat, and, thus, you can afford to level up your town by building new factories and houses.

The whole concept behind Township is to trade resources with your online friends or buy resources with real money, which would be a very expensive proposal. Besides the fact that it mimics real-life economics to some extent, it relies on everyone’s sense of social belonging to a community and desire for wealth.

The graphics are quite nice, with nice colors, balanced contrasts, and cartoon-like animations for every action you undergo. Sounds are also good, but they don’t really do much for the player’s involvement in the game.

Taking all things into consideration, Township proves to be an interesting proposal in the world of city building games, with good graphics, nice in-game animations and a balanced money requirement curve.

The fact that it is dependent on other players to be played efficiently, can either be a very good thing, or a very bad thing: it all depends on having enough friends who would like to play this type of game with you.
