TurboShredder is a small Windows application specialized in secure cleaning operations. The tool’s purpose is to help you permanently delete files from your computer, so they cannot be recovered with the aid of dedicated programs.

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you to need to securely delete files from your computer on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.

TurboShredder gives you the possibility to add files in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support.

You can build up a list with the items that you want to remove, upload the content of an entire folder in the main workspace, clear the selected items from the list, and start or stop the shredding process.

The program allows you to choose between different erasing methods for helping you delete data with random, zero, or one number of passes, using the well-known Gutmann algorithm, or manually selecting the number of passes by adjusting the built-in slider.

Tests reveal that the tool carries out the secure deletion process pretty quickly but this pretty much depends of the number of files that you want to shred and deletion algorithm. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
