Universal HTTP Tunnel is a handy tool that helps your network talk to each other even when there are firewalls, proxy servers, or traffic filters blocking certain types of communication. This software allows only specific traffic through the HTTP protocol, making it easier for various client-server applications like remote desktop or streaming services to work smoothly.

How It Works

So, here’s the scoop on how it all comes together. The client side of the tunnel is where you install the Universal HTTP Tunnel client application. It keeps an eye out on a specific TCP port for any incoming requests. When a request pops up, this nifty program sets up an HTTP/S tunnel to the server and starts sending data through it.

The server side of this tunnel runs on a standard Microsoft IIS web server with our special Universal IIS Proxy ISAPI extension added in. Basically, this side just passes along the data to whichever application you want on that server or its local area network (LAN).

Multiple Connections Made Easy

The cool part? Both sides—the client and server—can handle multiple tunnels and connections all at once! Just remember that you need to set up the tunnel on the server side first so that your client can jump in and use it.

Limitations

Just one thing to keep in mind: each connection to any tunnel lasts for 10 minutes. So make sure you plan accordingly!
