USBSkin

USBSkin is a lightweight tool that you can use to change the image that is displayed in the background while your USB drive is connected and opened in Windows Explorer.

It’s an easy to use application that requires no special installation and uses very little of your system resources.

USBSkin displays a user-friendly interface which makes the entire process all that much easier. All you have to do in order to change the appearance of the USB background is to load the desired image from your computer and apply it. It’s all a three step process.

You can preview the loaded image inside the main window of the application in case you need to make sure that the picture you've selected is in fact the one you want to apply. It goes without saying that in order for this to work you need to have the USB drive connected to your computer.

When the USB device is connected, it’s assigned with a drive letter which helps you identify it. USBSkin offers you five such letters to choose from and, once you click the one that is associated with your USB device, the image is automatically applied. You need to do this to set the background as well as the configuration.

USBSkin is a nice tool that helps you personalize your USB in a unique way but this effect was designed for Windows XP, an operating system that over the years has lost users. What this means is that despite the fact that USBSkin is a practical application, one day it will become useless.
