VersInfoEx is a super easy-to-use application that adds a neat little feature back to the Properties window. Remember the ‘Version’ tab from Windows XP? Well, this software brings it back! This tab was removed in later versions of Windows, but now you can have it again.
If you've used any version of Windows after XP, you might have noticed that the Properties dialog has changed. Instead of showing product info in the Version tab, it now shows it in the Details tab. But here’s the catch: the Details tab doesn’t give you all the info you need—it’s more condensed and doesn't let you copy data easily.
The Details tab skips over some important details like Comments and Installer Info. That’s where VersInfoEx steps in! It brings back that handy Version tab right next to Details, so you don’t lose out on any useful information.
The cool thing about VersInfoEx is that it doesn’t replace or remove anything; it just adds the Version tab alongside the Details tab. This means you can easily view or copy important info without any hassle!
The Version sheet shows up only in the Properties window for programs—not for files or folders. It displays key info like file version, description, and copyright at the top of the tab. You’ll find other details organized neatly below. However, some things like file size or date modified will still be found in the Details section.
If you're using a post-XP operating system and miss having that Version tab, then VersInfoEx is your answer! It not only makes accessing extra information easier but also lets you copy any data straight to your clipboard. The comments section and installer details are also there to help!
