VideoKifu is a cool app that helps you analyze the moves you and your partner made during a Go game. To get started, you need to record your game or set up a webcam for live video.
Now, here’s the deal: taking some time to set up your camera right is super important. The best spot for the camera is on the side of the goban, and it should be as high as possible. This way, you can see the whole board clearly! Just remember not to move either the goban or the camera too much; even a little shift can cause issues.
For the best results, aim for a high camera resolution like 720p or 1080p. Just keep in mind that if you go with those higher resolutions, it might take longer to analyze everything. But if you use lower resolutions, you might have trouble seeing all those little stones!
The neat thing about VideoKifu is that it can analyze games from either a live webcam feed or from recorded videos. Once it spots the goban’s grid, it will show up on your screen and let you hit that start button to kick off your analysis! When all the stones are detected, you'll be able to create an SGF file and a kifu.
If you're new to this app (or even if you're not), it's a great idea to check out the documentation before diving in. It has detailed instructions that walk you through everything step by step.
