Relying on the capabilities of the Virtual Printer Driver SDK, VPD Go! delivers a virtual printer that can convert any document to various formats. With its help, you no longer need to use a dedicated software converter, as the format of your documents can be changed simply by hitting the “Print” command.

The application is easily installed but don’t look for a shortcut on the desktop or an interface, for that matter. Since it is a virtual printer, it is added to the list of available printers in Windows and the operating system treats it as such. Configuring the settings of VPD Go! is possible via the “Printers and scanners” section of the Windows settings, where you can manage the print queue, print test pages, access the printer’s properties and modify the printing preferences.   No matter the document editor you are using, you can hit the “CTRL-P” button to print the opened file. Whether we are talking about a Word document in DOC/DOCX format, a text file, a RTF file or any other sort of document, including PDF, it is possible to print it and convert it with VPD Go!.

The “Print” dialog is where the VPD Go! printer can be selected. You get to choose the number of copies, the layout, the pages to print and so on, all in a window that displays exactly the same settings as if you had chosen a physical printer.

Click the “Print” command to initiate the document conversion. In just a few seconds, VPD Go! creates all the output files and opens their location in Windows Explorer. The resulting documents include PDF, EMF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and TXT files, all saved in the same output folder. As you can see, the document to convert is also saved in other document formats, but also printed in graphic formats.

VPD Go! is an interesting tool to have around, as it makes it easier to convert regular documents to other formats, including graphic ones. For instance, you can use it to convert and save a PDF or a DOC file to JPEG or TIFF format or extract the text in a PDF file and save it as a plain text document.
