VU Meter is a cool app that acts like a virtual audio level meter. It mimics the volume unit meter from those old stereos, showing you volume indicators right on your desktop!

What is VU Meter?

This app works kind of like a sidebar gadget. Its interface doesn't take up much room on your desktop, and you can move it around wherever you want. It gives you a real-time view of the audio signal levels for both the left and right audio channels.

Easy Controls

If you right-click anywhere on the main screen, you'll see a handy menu. This lets you set the maximum value or reset it to 0, 20, or 40. This is super useful when you're listening to audio streams recorded at lower values.

Customize Your Meters

The meters usually show up in black and white by default, but guess what? You can fully customize how they look through the 'Options' window! VU Meter allows you to change colors for everything—from the background to the needle that points out the levels, and even the major and minor lines or displayed text.

Adjustable Settings

You can tweak various other settings too. Want your meters displayed horizontally (side by side) or vertically (one above another)? No problem! You can also change how quickly they respond; it can swing across from 300 ms down to just 150 ms!

Stay On Top of Things

You have an option to keep VU Meter on top of all your other windows. This means you can overlay it while using any audio processing program, so monitoring those audio levels becomes super easy.
