WiFi Share is a super handy tool that helps you share your computer’s Internet connection with other devices without any hassle. If you've ever wanted to let your friends or family use your Internet, this is the way to go!
The main window of WiFi Share is straightforward and user-friendly. You’ll see two buttons that let you start or stop the WiFi hotspot you created. This means you can pay for one Internet connection and share it with all your devices or family members.
Even though WiFi Share doesn’t have a bunch of fancy features or a super modern look, it gets the job done. You can quickly share your Internet with friends over Wi-Fi, making it perfect for gatherings where everyone wants to get online.
This tool uses Windows' Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) feature. Essentially, it routes TCP/IP packets from a small local area network (LAN) to the Internet while using DHCP and network address translation (NAT). So, if you're wondering how it works behind the scenes, that's how!
To make this work on your computer, you'll need at least two network connections. You enable ICS navigation from the Windows Network Connection option on the host computer to share that connection with others.
You can easily set up your WiFi by going into the Options window of the utility. Just enter a name and password for your current connection! After that, head over to Network Sharing Center, change adapter settings, and go to the Sharing tab in Properties. Then just allow others to connect by choosing the network you created.
In short, WiFi Share is a reliable tool worth having when you need to turn your PC into a Wi-Fi hotspot by manually setting up your network adapter for sharing.
