Windographer Professional Edition

Windographer Professional Edition was designed with geographers in mind.

The idea behind it is to help users map with great ease wind movement and also speed and evolution over a set course of time. The results are as you would imagine quite comprehensive with plenty of charts and subsequent information to accompany them.

The program works with SoDAR and LiDAR tower measurement data. The program does provide some sample files, but those trying to use the app should keep in mind it works as a sort of interpreter, requiring data to execute complex analyses and calculations.

The interface can be a tad crowded, but in the end, you get a ton of tools to further analyze your added data. The program also displays results quickly and without much issue.

First of all, you will get coordinates for the selected wind data. Elevation, start data and end data for the collected information, duration, and data points are just a couple of the more general aspects the app will present to its users. Environmental conditions are also shown with the inclusion of temperature, pressure, and air density.

The whole idea is to make the scenario as clear as possible in the context of analyzing wind development in the selected region. Wind speed and power together with shear coefficients are displayed. These are associated with about four diagrams of different kinds portraying the evolution of winds based on the Shear profile, its frequency, or diurnal speed.

Windographer Professional Edition is not an application for your general user. It says so in its name, professional being the keyword here. As long as you know what you are getting into, the program does offer a fair share of data and complex information for use with your wind-related research.
