Windows 8.1 was the first big update for Windows 8, coming out after its launch in October 2012. This update brought a ton of cool improvements that made everything run smoother. You might notice some changes to the Start Screen, plus they even added a Start button! And let’s not forget about the revamped themes.
If you’re into aesthetics, you’ll be happy to know that these updates were visible in the RTM (Released To Manufacturing) version of Windows 8.1. If you just want those fresh new wallpapers without upgrading your whole OS, you're in luck! You can download Windows 8.1 RTM Wallpapers.
This wallpaper package includes nine stunning images that can jazz up your desktop background. If you’re already using Windows 8, you can even change up your taskbar and titlebar colors to match each wallpaper.
The wallpapers are designed for wide monitors with most of them having a resolution of 1920x1200, at 96 dpi. So no matter what size screen you have, these images will look sharp and clear!
If you're rocking a dual-monitor setup, there’s even one image that stretches across both screens! This way, you won't have to fuss around with setting backgrounds for each monitor separately.
You can easily set any of these images as your default wallpaper or even designate the whole folder as your go-to source for desktop backgrounds! Just pick how long you want each image to display before it rotates.
The images were released alongside the RTM edition and eight out of nine made it into the final version of Windows 8.1: seven belong to the Lines and Colors theme while one is part of a separate theme called simply Windows.
If at any point you want to switch things up and stop using these wallpapers, it's super easy! Just delete the folder and choose another image that catches your eye.
