The Windows drag sensitivity determines how many pixels you need to move an object after clicking on it in order to initiate a drag operation. By default, it is set to 4 pixels, but it can be changed by editing the Registry.
WinDragSens is a straightforward, open-source application that makes the process quite a bit simpler. It enables you to change the horizontal and vertical drag sensitivity from an intuitive GUI, as well as test the modifications.
Some of you might know that you can perform this modification even without third-party software, but the process involves editing the Windows Registry, which may not be the best idea for inexperienced users.
Originally a command-line program, WinDragSens now features a minimalistic but intuitive graphical user interface that makes everything even simpler.
Assuming you haven’t adjusted these parameters through some other methods, the default values for horizontal and vertical sensitivity should be 4, determining how many pixels the mouse needs to be moved in order to start dragging an object.
After changing the sensitivity, you can try out the new settings by attempting to drag the object in the test area. Finding the values that are just right should be pretty easy, and you can always revert to the original settings if you aren’t happy with them.
WinDragSens is a simple piece of software that makes it easy to customize the Windows drag sensitivity. It features a minimalistic graphical user interface that all users should find to be very intuitive, and it also enables you to test the changes. What’s more, it does not even need to be installed before use.
