Wireless Meter is a handy little widget that pops up on your desktop to show your network name and how strong your WiFi signal is. It's super useful, especially if you're dealing with a weak connection. Plus, it's really easy to install and set up!
The interface of Wireless Meter is pretty straightforward. It has a semi-transparent frame with a light grey background that lets you see what's going on without getting in the way. You can quickly check the current network name and WiFi signal strength in percentage.
If you right-click on the widget, you can access the Widget Preferences area where you can change things like the text and title colors. However, it’s worth noting that Wireless Meter doesn’t have many other configuration settings to play with.
Thanks to the options available through the Yahoo! Widget Engine, you can tweak some fun features! For example, you can make the frame stay on top of other windows or set it to ignore mouse events so it doesn’t get in your way. You can also adjust its opacity anywhere from 20% to 100%!
The best part? Wireless Meter is very light on CPU and RAM usage, which means it won’t slow down your computer or interrupt what you're doing. In our tests, it responded quickly without causing any crashes or annoying error messages. Just keep in mind that there haven't been updates for this tool in quite some time.
If you're looking for an easy way to keep an eye on your WiFi strength without cluttering your screen, download Wireless Meter here!
