Xtreme Racer is a simple yet entertaining racing game that has you controlling a space hovercraft through an ever-changing landscape. The game does not feature any levels: your own best score is your worst enemy.

The Xtreme Racer controls are resumed to the arrow keys so you can easily move your ship right or left in order to avoid the decorum that races your way. You don’t get weapons or any other such thing: your only job is to dodge the hard walls that will make you crash.

Xtreme Racer keeps track of the distance you covered so far and displays the amount in the top left corner of the main window. The same area also showcases your best score: you get notified when you surpass it, but you don’t get any special bonuses.

Worth mentioning is that the landscape changes constantly and randomly, and things do get more complicated as you go farther: the walls barring your way get lower, so they are harder to spot and to avoid.

Things are made more interesting by the fact that you get to collect credits that can be spent in the in-game store to buy new ships. You can also buy special perks: double or triple credits for one race.

You can opt to get the credits you need by playing the game and collect them as you go, or increase the amount of in-game credits via in-app purchases.

Xtreme Racer is a simple yet very challenging game that makes you continually push yourself: you get to start the race over and over again until you manage to surpass your own performance.

The alert soundtrack matches the fast-paced Xtreme Racer gameplay, but you will have to mute the system sound if you want a silent experience. You can buy more ship designs or colors by using in-game credits, yet there are no other customization options.
